1. Odds on favorite Michael Wardian (32) of Arlington, VA wins by miles in 2:41:20. Even with six marathons this year, including a second overall April 1 fooling around in Knoxville, TN with 2:45:37, this was a training run. In March, he surrounded his third place Olympic qualifying Shamrock Marathon (2:21:37) with two more overall wins - National 2:26:36 and B&A Trail 2:25:30.


2. Conni Grace (44) Poughquag, NY led all fifty-five women from 22 different states to win in 3:00:56.


3. After more than 650 races run in the last eight years, Karsten Brown (32) of Front Royal, VA has gotten serious about racing. He has run six marathons since late February so naturally he finished sixth in 3:10:25.

1. Philippe Signore (39) of Falls Church, VA proudly holds off a mini-pack of three runners for fifth place in 3:10:13.


2. Mary Zengo (41) of Wilton, CT has an excellent race in 3:06:27 to finish second woman.


3. Greg Chaconas (61) of Washington, DC is determined to break four hours and does in 3:59:49. Since turning sixty he has broken that mark twice, including a 3:48:23 last fall.

1. 12th place Jeff Burrowes (34) of Cedar Grove NJ finishes in 3:17:09. Seven other states had a faster finisher.


2. No time to stop for fries or cotton candy. There are 26 miles to be run.


3. Watching the race, it is clear being a spectator is going to be chilling work.
