For the Washington Running Report

In the photo above, the legend continues. Spurred on by rumors of his demise; Chuck Moeser (55) of Sterling, VA comes out of seclusion to roar home to a course record 33:47.

Photos below

  1. Toni Diegoli (28) of Arlington, VA earns second in her division with 38:35, leading a perplexed Bill Stahr (46) of The Plains, VA to the finish. Stahr finished two places ahead of Michael Dusenbery (#2603) with a slightly faster chip time.

  2. No one, including Michael Badamo (#477) of Rockville, MD seems to be focused on the impending finish line.

  3. Robert Carey (#658) of Montgomery Village, MD is the only one with his feet on the ground but he is in the lead.

Photos below

  1. William Scott (59) of Seabrook, MD was 14th in his division with 41:50. Soon he will join the next division where his time would have been fourth.

  2. Kathleen McFarlane (37) of Ashburn, VA earns fifth in the largest prize division with 42:36.

  3. Lou Shapiro (65) of Silver Spring, MD seems to shuffle as he moves past his competitors. None of the caught up as he won easily in 41:49.

Photos below

  1. Aileen Moffatt (50) of Washington, DC started in the second wave and netted her way to third place with 43:19.

  2. By the end of the year Michael Wardian will probably have run his 50th marathon in this century, He already has 46, including seven this year. His five top three finishes with three victories have all been since March 4th. So where does he get the juice to finish eleventh overall in 31:45?

  3. Gretchen Triantos (50) of Rockville, MD does not race as much as she used to. She even started in the second wave. She gunned down scores of runners along the way and netted an age group win with 41:08.
