1. Paul Rades (#11) of Wheaton, MD rides the shoulder of 20-year-old Haile Gelalcha of Oxon Hill, MD Rades was 11th in 2005, moving to eighth this year in 31:40. Gelalcha was seventh in 31:39.


2. World-class grandmaster Terry Permar (51) of Perkasie, PA ventured south to torch one of the oldest age group records in 33:42. Reuben Beauchamp had the old record at 34:08 set in 2000.


3. In a rarely seen "stop the watch AFTER the finish," Elena Orlova (36) of Gaithersburg, MD finishes third overall. She easily broke the sub master record of Tatiana Belovol at 35:13 set last year with her amazing 34:26.

1. In 2005, Susannah Kvasnicka finished second behind one Kenyan in 34:39. This year she slowed just four seconds, finishing fourth behind two Kenyans and a Russian.


2. 55-59 and 60-64 course record holder Patrick Griffith (61) of Alexandria, VA continues his spree with a six-minute victory in 37:39.


3. Thomas Faucette (29) of Silver Spring, MD in 36:05 was 47th of the 60 men who broke a six-minutes pace for the race.
