  1. Runners fill Ohio Drive along the scenic Potomac River.

  2. Ovidiu Olteanu (33) from Romania drove in from Royal Oak, Michigan to race against Washington's finest.

  3. Olteanu broke the tape at 31:20.

  4. Eric Lavigne (27) of Ashburn, VA, took time off from his duties as manager of the new Potomac River Running shop to race and placed 3rd in 31:59.

  1. Joel Brusewitz of Baltimore, MD claimed 7th place in 33:20.

  2. Chuck Moeser of Sterling, VA was 8th overall, the only man older than 50 among the top 26.

  3. Roger Barbee, the sole wheelchair athlete, completed the course in 37:45. Cathy Pugsley (far right) was the 5th female, finishing in 36:46.

  1. Dorota Gruca (32) of Gaithersburg, MD beat 2nd place finisher Denisa Costescu of Romania by just 7 seconds.

  2. Meghan McLaughlin of Vienna, VA was 3rd in 35:33.

  3. Irina Suvorova of Russia, currently living and training in Gaithersburg, MD, was the 6th female with her time of 37:59, beating Alexandria's Lory Gray by just one second. Behind Suvorova are Brian Carroll (#171) of Silver Spring, MD and William Selby (#312) of Gaithersburg.

  1. Arlington's Monica Grillo (39) was the last woman to finish in the money, taking 10th in 38:59.

  2. Runners continued to stream in to the finish for another hour.

  3. Raymond De Frees of Fairfax, VA carries the flag in DC-area races, adding a patriotic note to the festivities.
