Open Men
It is a sign of the strength of Washington area running that 2004 Olympic Trials qualifiers Chris Banks and Aaron Church could place no higher than fifth and tenth. There were 13 qualifiers in the Open division sharing their illustrious company.

Ben Cooke, the 2002 champion, returned to competition, and returned to form, claiming the top spot.
