- Patriot senior Rachel McArthur won the 800 meter finals at the New Balance Indoor Championships, running 2:06.08. The Bullis School won the girls’ 4×400 meter relay in a meet record time of 3:39.70. The team included freshmen Leah Phillips and Shaniya Hall, sophomore Lauryn Harris and junior Masai Russell.
- Lake Braddock coach Mike Mangan was named Mike Byrnes National Coach of the year by the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation.
- The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will hold an open house Wednesday March 15 to gather input on rerouting of the Georgetown Branch Trail during construction of the Purple Line. The open house will be held frm 7-8:30 p.m. in Room B of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, at 4805 Edgemoor Lane in Bethesda.
