The CATHalf Trail Half-Marathon and the Pounding Creek Marathon will take place on the sweet single-track trails of The Miller School of Albemarle on Saturday, October 27th, 2018, at 8 am. The marathon will consist of two loops of the half-marathon course, with the second loop running in the reverse direction from the first.
The Miller School’s 1,600-acre campus boasts an extensive trail system that includes rolling wooded single-track, climbs through piney forests and open fields, and a tough but fun finish! Each loop includes about 2,500 feet of elevation gain.
Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each race and, of course, there will be a fun and festive party at the race finish! The trails are maintained by students on the Miller School of Albermarle Endurance Team and The Charlottesville Area Trail Runners organize this race together with the MSA Endurance Team coach, Andy Guptill. Proceeds from the race go to benefit the MSA Endurance Team.
