In honor of Global Running Day, DC Road Runners will once again hold our annual mile time trials.
The event will consist of several dedicated mile heats, and we will be offering pace guidance for paces ranging from 10:00+ to a sub-5:00 pace.
This race is for kids 17 years and under and part of the MCRRC Youth Series. Events will begin at 9:00AM at Cabin John Regional Park. In the interest of promoting youth fitness, these races are free to all participants ages 17 and under, but participants must be registered by a parent.
Join us for a good ol’ track meet, including a youth run, one- and two-mile distances, and a 4×400 relay!
Dust off those spikes for the Midsummer Night’s Mile! It is a track mile, run in heats, and part of our Championship Series and Youth Series. The night finishes with relay races – find three friends and go for glory!
Kids on The Run and Kids Marathon are non-competitive running events for children and young people age 17 and younger. Participants can choose from these four distances based on their age and ability. The event will feature a Toddler Trot, Half-Mile, One-Mile, and 2K Kids Marathon events.
All events take place on the paved trails of Bohrer Park in the City of Gaithersburg. Participants do not run on roads. There is a ‘rabbit’ runner who will lead the participants in each event. There is also a ‘sweeper’ who follows behind for each event insuring everyone makes it back to the finish line. There are multiple opportunities to see and cheer for the youth runners!
Kick off the holiday with MCRRC with our annual Memorial Day 4-Miler on Monday, May 26. It’s a nice, shady 4-mile race through Rock Creek Park – but don’t get too comfortable. An uphill finish awaits you at the end!
