The Race to End Women’s Cancer, a 5K or 1-mile run/walk that serves as a fundraising and awareness event for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer’s (FWC) Move4Her campaign, brings families, friends and advocates together to support those impacted by gynecologic (GYN) cancers. Start times are 9:30am for 1k walk and 9:45am for the 5k run. Registration costs – $45 to $60. Cash prizes are awarded to the top female and male 5K runners, including overall (1st place – $200; 2nd place – $150; 3rd place – $100) and masters (40 and older, 1st place – $100 each). Gifts are also awarded to the top three survivor runners. Enjoy running on flat, fast and PR-friendly course with spectacular views of top landmarks in our Nation’s Capital. Show your spirit by wearing costumes and bringing and showing off signs. Free street parking is available throughout downtown DC along with a variety of paid parking garages. The race is also accessible by Metro (WMATA) with three stations located near Freedom Plaza: Federal Triangle (Blue, Orange and Silver lines), Metro Center (Blue, Orange, Red and Silver lines) and Archives Navy Memorial – Penn Quarter (Green and Yellow lines). Lace up those sneakers and get running to support our schools! We are looking forward to getting back to Cherry Hill Park for our annual FCEF Run for the Schools event! The 5K and untimed 1 mile will take place Sunday, September 14, at 8:00 am. The USATF Certified 5K course winds through the tree-lined streets of historic Falls Church City. The course is a mix of hills and flat stretches, a little something for every level runner. There will be a water stop along the course. The course also includes a 1 Mile loop for runners and walkers. Strollers are welcome! No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or dogs please. All participants will receive a race shirt and other promotional items.
The 5K and 10K courses are trail runs throughout the farm and will be officially timed. The 10K ruck follows the same course as the 10K run.

Ever wanted to race your friends, family and neighbors down Battlefield Blvd? Well, a new, family-friendly, 1 mile fun run and race before the Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade will give you the chance to do exactly that. 30 minutes before the start of the Christmas parade, lace up and run, jog, or walk the route – under the lights – and being cheered on by thousands of your Chesapeake friends and family. Add to the festivities with Christmas lights, pjs, ugly sweaters and costumes (no full Santa costumes allowed – there’s only one Santa in the parade).
The course will be chip-timed and feature an official USTAF measurement. Runners will be corraled based on anticipated pace/finishing time to ensure competitiveness and opportunity for serious runners to compete to be the inagural champion of the Holloy Jolly Jog.

This event is for kids 17 years and under and part of the MCRRC Youth Series. In the interest of promoting youth fitness, these races are free to anyone age 17 and under, but participants must be registered by a parent!
The City of Rockville, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club (MCRRC), welcomes all to participate in this fall running tradition. The 10K and 5K are on the streets of the King Farm community for a scenic and challenging, yet rewarding, course. It is an ideal venue to cap off your summer/fall training and kick off the upcoming winter running season. Participants of all abilities are welcome.
