In its 9th year, this well-organized event benefits kids with cancer at Children’s National where Ben was treated for leukemia before he passed away. More than 1,000 runners and walkers typically register for the 5 mile, 5K or one mile fun run. Welcome ceremony at 8a and gun time is 8:30a. Registration is open at www.bensrun.org. $25 til March 1; $30 til March 24; and then $35 thru race day on April 6th. Location: Stonegate ES, 14811 Notley Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905. Packet pick up the day prior at the school, or on race day.

The Walk to End Epilepsy – DC fundraising event is held in Washington, D.C. on the National Mall near the Smithsonian National Mall metro station. It is an inspirational, healthy and fun community celebration of music and entertainment with friends, family, corporations and organizations celebrating their fundraising success and support for the epilepsy community. Funds raised are for much needed research, programs, services, advocacy and education about epilepsy. People from nearly 50 states across North America converge on the National Mall each Spring as they take steps to end epilepsy. Join us for our 5K Walk and Family Fun Mile event and celebration on April 27, 2019.
*We are not permitted to register/collect money on the mall. It’s a National Park Service policy. Please register online.

April 26: Early Walk t-shirt pick-up on the National Mall
April 27: Walk to End Epilepsy on the National Mall at 7:00 a.m

5K Fun Run/Walk for competitive runners, fitness/frequent runners, joggers/recreational runners & walkers/strollers, dogs allowed. 5K finisher medals will be given to all children crossing the finish line. A family style block party will be featured after the race with characters, free food, bounce houses and live music. Costumes are welcome and encouraged for this fun, family event. Medals will be awarded to overall and age group winners and three finishers with the best costumes. Adults $35, 6-17 $20, under 6 free, prices increase April 1.

Born in 1984, the George Washington Parkway Classic is among the most scenic and spacious distance races on the East Coast. From the serene beauty of our spacious course meandering through the finest spring bloom in the DC area, to beautiful views of the Potomac and charming streets of Alexandria, the Parkway Classic is a journey that celebrates the simple joys of road racing.
The race begins at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and ends along the Potomac in Alexandria with free tacos and a beer garden courtesy of Port City Brewing Co.

Competitive and non-competitive runners and walkers are welcome to join Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC in raising our feet to raise hope for families on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA.
All registrants will receive a t-shirt and Kid’s Fun Run participants will also receive a souvenir medal.
Mixed gravel and pavement course. Strollers are welcome, but course may not be suitable for the average stroller.
