Join the Zebras for this Zebra Dazzle event for all fitness levels. The 5k Walk/Run has 2 options. You can participate as an onsite participant on 9/13 at Carter Barron in Rock Creek Park, NW Washington DC or as a virtual participant. Onsite gun time is 8:30! Prices will be awarded for top onsite finishers! Virtual participants can walk or run anywhere and will be able to upload their time. The 100-Mile/30-Day bike challenge is virtual only. This challenges provides the opportunity to ride 100 miles from anywhere over the span of 30 days during August 13 – September 13. You will be able to log miles as you go, so no need to ride the 100 miles in one day! Once registered, you will get race training tips and the opportunity to join various fitness sessions from the Zebras! In addition to paying for race participation, your $50 registration fee also includes the Zebra bling bag (T-Shirt and Finisher’s Medal).
Our charity supports awareness for Amyloidosis, a rare disease that is a consequence of abnormal protein (amyloid) deposits in body tissues and organs. Help the Zebras raise funds for further research via the Amyloidosis Foundation, increase awareness about this debilitating disease and learn how to recognize early symptoms. Any additional donations to Zebras in Motion are tax deductible.

The Race to End Women’s Cancer, a 5K or 1-mile run/walk that serves as a fundraising and awareness event for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer’s (FWC) Move4Her campaign, brings families, friends and advocates together to support those impacted by gynecologic (GYN) cancers. Start times are 9:30am for 1k walk and 9:45am for the 5k run. Registration costs – $45 to $60. Cash prizes are awarded to the top female and male 5K runners, including overall (1st place – $200; 2nd place – $150; 3rd place – $100) and masters (40 and older, 1st place – $100 each). Gifts are also awarded to the top three survivor runners. Enjoy running on flat, fast and PR-friendly course with spectacular views of top landmarks in our Nation’s Capital. Show your spirit by wearing costumes and bringing and showing off signs. Free street parking is available throughout downtown DC along with a variety of paid parking garages. The race is also accessible by Metro (WMATA) with three stations located near Freedom Plaza: Federal Triangle (Blue, Orange and Silver lines), Metro Center (Blue, Orange, Red and Silver lines) and Archives Navy Memorial – Penn Quarter (Green and Yellow lines). This 5K+ (3.5 mile) run/walk event for adults and youth is on Sat. Oct. 11, 2025, in the beautiful Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood MD. The purpose is to have an outdoor, fun and healthy gathering to promote community engagement and voter participation in Montgomery County and our beautiful State of Maryland. A Pep Rally and warm up featuring our Maryland elected officials starts at 8 am, and the race starts at 9 am. The course is a natural trail path that traverses through the peaceful historical farm park. There is a water station at the 1.5 mile marker. Online registration only. Packet pick-up is available on October 10 in Potomac, MD, and you can pick up your packet starting at 7:15 am at the race venue on the day of the race. Check the race website for details.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Everyone is welcome – regardless of age, race, gender, or fitness level! This is a fun run/walk open to all. Participants can choose to walk, jog, or run the 5km course.
Children can register and run/jog/walk in the 1km run.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION?
Registration includes event T-shirt, race bib, water bottle, branded bag, and other event materials. Finishers will be receiving the 2025 edition medal.
PACKET PICKUP
Pre-event packet pickup date and location: Thursday Oct 9 (from 11:00am to 7:00pm) and Friday Oct 10 (from 10:00am to 7:00pm). Locations: (1) Virginia (Alexandria) from Alexandria Toyota @ 3750 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305; and (2) Maryland (Silver Spring) from Lucy Kitchen @ 8301 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Make sure that you have your photo I.D. with you to pickup. Do not forget to keep your tickets handy. Download your tickets on phone or print them out; Bring either downloaded or printed ticket to your chosen packet pick-up location.
Please note that to take part in the Grand African Run; the tradition is that everyone needs to put on the event’s official T-shirt and a bib number. There will be screening at the entrance and please make sure that you are wearing your official T-shirt and bib number.
