Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and the approach of baseball season at the 5th Annual Grand Slamrock 5K. This is the perfect event to slide into Spring after you’ve dugout from a long winter of cold and snow. Runners and walkers alike are welcome to join us in this race! The 5K is stroller-friendly, but no dogs are allowed in any of the races, so leave the pups at home!

Run or walk with us on December 13th on a scenic 5K course along the rolling hills of Mine Road in Stafford, VA. Kids 12 and under can join the fun in the 1 Mile Reindeer Run! Costumes are always encouraged, and we’ll be awarding prizes to the best costumes at the awards ceremony. Bring on the holiday cheer! All finishers will receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and custom finisher’s medal! #willrunforbling

The race will take place on historic Civil War battlefield trails starting and finishing at the Hart Farm located at 6915 Duncan Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803. The race course will guide participants through the Civil War Breakthrough Battlefield trails which ended the 292 day siege of Petersburg featuring a beautiful landscape with original earthworks from the decisive battle. Participants will enjoy the safety of a course run entirely on trails with no motor vehicle traffic. Top adult overall male and female finishers and top youth finishers, in each age group, will receive awards. The start time is at 9:00 am and race day registration is open from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. Runner and walker registrations postmarked by October 10, 2025 are $30.00 adults and $10.00 youths with a guarantee of a t-shirt. Run Hope Work is excited to host our annual Run For A Better Life 5K on October 19th! Racers will take on a fast, flat out-and-back course in Anacostia Park, starting at the Roller Skating Pavilion. To ensure fun for the whole family, we also have a 1-Mile Fun Run and 400-meter Kids Run, free for kids 17 and under! The 5K starts at 8:30 AM, with the Fun Run and Kids Run beginning around 9:30 AM.
After the races, enjoy family-friendly activities until 11 AM, including games, music, food, and community fun—a celebration for all ages!
Halloween WILL be in the air, and we will be celebrating the 16th running of the Ghost 5k & Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run.
Runners are encouraged to run in costume and be a part of our costume contest for a chance to claim bragging rights and win prizes!
