We are hosting the 6th Annual APA & APAF MOORE Equity in Mental Health 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk & Roll. Our goal is to raise $100k for nonprofits improving mental health for young people of color.

Join the inaugural MomFuel 5K & Wellness Fair on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Claude Moore Park. This untimed 5K community walk/5k run benefits The Mama Foundation 501(c)(3) programming supporting postpartum mothers in the DMV area. The stroller and family-friendly 5K/walk welcomes all paces whether you walk, jog, or run.

No chip timing, this event is about community over competition. After crossing the finish line, enjoy our Wellness Fair featuring local wellness vendors, family activities, refreshments, and opportunities to connect with other families. Perfect for moms, families, runners, and walkers of all fitness levels. All proceeds support The Mama Foundation’s mission to help postpartum mothers through community building, flexible employment opportunities, and wellness programming. Come for the 5K, stay for the community, and help us fuel mothers in Northern Virginia.

Enjoy spring at the U.S. National Arboretum during the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) Flowering 5K. This run or walk will take you past garden collections brightly colored with spring flowers, over tree-lined rolling hills, and along streams winding their way to the Anacostia River. Enjoy cherry blossoms, magnolias, and so much more!

This race is not only scenic but also safe and secure. All roads are closed to cars during this race so you can safely enjoy running or walking through this 451-acre urban green space. A professional race announcer will call out runners as they cross the finish line and music will get you in the groove before and after the event.


Celebrate the 40th year of Springburst with the Prince George’s Running Club (PGRC)! This year’s event features a 10K (6.2 miles) out-and-back course and a free one-mile fun run for kids. New for 2026, there’s also a virtual 10K option, with participants having until Sunday, April 26, 2026, to complete their run.

The 10K is part of the Maryland Road Runners Club of America (MDRRCA) Grand Prix Series. Participants registered by March 27, 2026, will receive a uniquely designed race T-shirt.


Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. is thrilled to announce the inaugural Halloween Hustle 5K & Spooky Sprint, set to take place on November 1st at Yowell Meadow Park.

This Halloween-themed race invites participants to don their most creative costumes as they run for a great cause! The 5K race will kick off at 8:00 AM, followed by the Spooky Sprint at 8:45 AM. Participants can look forward to Halloween costume awards, an exciting after party featuring food trucks, and complimentary water and bananas.


Conflict journalist and humanitarian James W. Foley was kidnapped by ISIS, held hostage, and brutally murdered in 2014. Jim embodied an unwavering commitment to press freedom. His work illuminated the life, dignity, and suffering of every individual, regardless of background or nationality.

In its 11th year, the Freedom Run/Walk is held at the James W. Foley Community Center in Rochester, NH and at Anacostia Park in Washington, DC with the option to participate virtually from anywhere else!
