Volunteer roles in the running world: I created a 5K fundraiser for my school 3 years ago. I think it is a great way to create a sense of community and engagement. It also promotes a healthier way of living which is so important when you work with children.

Why you run:  I try to run away from my wife who is an elite runner. But she always catches me!

When did you get started running: Almost 10 years ago, when I met my wife

Have you taken a break from running:  I ran less last year but I am training for a half marathon in February

The hardest race you’ve ever run: A five-mile race in the heart of summer.

Most adventurous decision you’ve made with your running:  Last Sunday when I went on a 10-mile run in the pouring rain.

My best race was: Twin Cities 10-miler

Goals: Still be in good shape to run races when my children will be teenagers/young adults
