Jordan McDougal, 23, of Culpeper, VA wins by a mere half second ahead of Frank Devar, 22, of Washington, DC in the fastest road 5K of the year with 14:47.4.
Sunday morning 1700 running enthusiasts participated in the second annual Love the Run You’re With 5K, presented by Pacers Running Stores and Fitness Together.
Leaders Ryan Carroll (#13) and David Hryvniak have not yet sorted out who will win.
The sky was clear blue, a slight breeze touched the 35 degree air, and a sea of red and pink clad runners celebrated their passion at the 3rd annual Virginia is for Lovers 14K in Virginia Beach, VA on Saturday.

If you were a volunteer course marshal, the morning was brisk but just barely damp from the pleasantly unrequited promise of rain for the weekend. As a runner, missing the water at the first two ditches on the opening hill just meant that you were not muddy until the next mile. Most of the experienced runners were in shorts and by the last mile were hoping for rain to cool them off.

All race activities moved to Lake Accotink Park.
The inaugural running of the Springfield 15K/5K race will be held the morning of June 6 in conjunction with the Springfield Days weekend festival. The race location has been moved from Lee High School to Lake Accotink Park.
With a brutal winter all but a distant memory thanks to temperatures that rose to the 70s, more than 9,200 runners finished this year’s fifth annual SunTrust National Marathon, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield National Half Marathon and Team Relay on Saturday in Washington, DC.
Wardian, who has garnered several honors this past year including 2008 and 2009 USATF Ultra Runner of the Year, felt pretty confident in his performance. Afterward he said he attacked every hill and stayed focused in order to post one of his fastest race times. “It was a terrific race,” exclaimed Wardian. “I love that my family was all able to be here.” Next up for the ultra marathoner is the Marathon des Sables and Comrades Marathon. Paul Howarth, of Albuquerque, NM, took third place in 2:27:19.
