National Capital 20 Miler
The National Capital 20 Miler is Washington DC’s premier fall marathon tune-up race, organized by DC Road Runners.
Participants can run in either the 20-mile race or the Janet Braunstein 5 Miler. DC Road Runners members and non-members can participate, and registration fees are adjusted accordingly.
Fees for the 20 Miler range from $65-$80 for members and non-members, respectively. For the 5 Miler, fees are $35-$40 for members and non-members.
Both courses are flat and fast out-and-back routes along the Chesapeake and Ohio Towpath. The start for both races is on the Towpath adjacent to the north parking lot at Carderock Recreation Area.
The 20 Miler starts at 7:00 am on September 29, 2024, and the Janet Braunstein 5 Miler begins at 7:20 am on the same day.
The 20 Miler offers runners four water stations on the course, which they will pass two times each. Food, water, and Gatorade are available at the race start and finish.
Registered participants will receive very cool race swag in the form of a stylish race hoodie.
