The Arc of Northern Virginia’s 46th Annual Corporate & Community Team Challenge

The annual Team Challenge brings together companies and the community to raise funds to support The Arc of Northern Virginia’s vital work for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages and their families. The event will be held at Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039), and it will include a 5k Race and 2k Fun Walk or Roll. Both teams and individuals are invited to register. Details below.

5k Race

The out-and-back 5k Race Course starts and finishes at Shelter C. Post-race festivities, including food, music, and an awards ceremony, will take place at Shelter C.

Timing:
Running teams (5-7 individuals) participating the 5k Race will be timed via chip. Trophies will be awarded to the top-three teams in each team category (see below) based on the average time of all team members. The top-five male and female runners will receive Amazon gift cards.

Team Categories:
• Corporate Co-ed – (Requires at least 2 female team members)
• Corporate All Male
• Corporate All Female
• Community Open (Includes families, organizations, and other non-corporate teams)

Age Group Categories:
The top-two male and female runners in each age group will receive Amazon gift cards:

• Under 15
• 15-19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

Registration Fees:
• Running team (5-7 runners): $500
• Individual runner: $45

Teams will receive t-shirts and race bibs (include timing chip) for all team members, along with a plaque featuring a photo of your team. Individuals will receive a t-shirt and race bib (with timing chip). The registration deadline is May 1, 2024.

2k Fun Walk or Roll

The 2k Fun Walk or Roll Course is 1k in each direction, out and back, but teams are welcome to walk the entire 5k Race Course. This event is fun, non-competitive, and pet, family, wheelchair, and stroller friendly. Finish times will not be recorded.

Registration Fees:
• Walking/Rolling team (up to 7 people): $500
• Individual walker/roller: $45

Teams will receive t-shirts and race bibs for all team members, along with a plaque featuring a photo of your team. Individuals will receive a t-shirt and race bib. The registration deadline is May 1, 2024.

Schedule
7:30 AM – Team photos taken
9:00 AM – 5k Race starts (The 2k Fun Walk or Roll will begin right after the runners depart)
10:00 AM – Awards Ceremony
