The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) returns to the nation’s capital for another lively year of running, fun and support with its 9th National Race to End Women’s Cancer. FWC’s primary fundraising and awareness event focusing on gynecologic cancers, the race will take place on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Freedom Plaza and along Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, in Washington, DC.
Registration is open to anyone who wishes to support the cause, whether survivor, surgeon, family or friend. Participants have the option of partaking in a 5K run beginning at 9:30 a.m., or a 1-mile walk that begins at 9:45 a.m. All individuals are encouraged to form or join a team and raise money for the organization prior to race day.
The Race is part of a larger End Women’s Cancer Weekend, which includes a free Gynecologic Cancer Education Course on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the JW Marriott Washington DC at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20004.
National Race co-chairs are “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Camille Grammer and 2017 “Super Survivor” award recipient Wendy Ericsson. Cash prizes awarded to top finishers. In addition to morning of onsite, packet pickup will also be held at local Potomac River Running Company locations on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3.
