5K race professionally measured and timed by Windsor Running. 8 am start – early bird prices starting at $30 includes a t-shirt and swag bag. 1K fun run and silent auction are also available. Post-race snacks and DJ. The race is held at Congressional Cemetery in Washington DC. Our 5K course is flat, fast, and USATF certified. Start and finish are within the cemetery, and the course goes out on the adjoining Anacostia Trail for a quick out and back. Water is available at the start/finish line and at a water stop around the halfway point of the 5k course.

The 43rd annual National Capital Bank Capitol Hill Classic will be held on May 19, 2024! Washington’s largest and oldest 10K will bring runners through the roadways of historic Capitol Hill, winding past the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, Lincoln Park, East Capitol Street, and the Fields at RFK; we also will have our regular 3K and kids’ fun run that will follow the 10K.

Join PetConnect Rescue at 9:00am on Sunday May 19th for their second annual Race to the Rescue, 5k and children’s fun run.

Taking place at the beautiful Franklin Park in Purcellville VA, this is an event perfect for all. Run/jog/walk along a scenic trail all while raising funds for animals in need. Avid runners, those just getting started, families, and children are all encouraged to participate. Don’t forget the pets too! Leashed dogs are welcome as well, as long as they are up to date on vaccines and get along with other canine friends!

PetConnect Rescue is a local all-breed dog and cat rescue, focusing on bringing animals from under-resourced shelter partners to the DMV area to find their forever homes.

Packet pickup and registration will be available at Capital Baptist Church on Friday, June 14 from 4pm – 7pm or on Saturday, June 15 from 7:15am – 8:45am.

KIDS FUN RUN
All children can participate in a non-competitive, free, 1K Fun Run. The Fun Run starts at 8:30 am. All pre-school children must be accompanied by a parent after the 1K race. A special Health Powered Kids program will be held during the race! Your child will enjoy positive self esteem and body image activities.

Join the Zebras for this Zebra Dazzle event for all fitness levels. The 5k Walk/Run has 2 options. You can participate as an onsite participant on 9/14 at Carter Barron in Rock Creek Park, NW Washington DC or as a virtual participant. Prices will be awarded for top onsite finishers and virtual participants can walk or run anywhere and will be able to upload their time. The 100-Mile/30-Day bike challenge is virtual only. This challenges provides the opportunity to ride `100 miles from anywhere over the span of 30 days during the August 14 – September 14 time span. You will be able to log miles as you go, so no need to ride the 100 miles in one day! Once registered, you will get race training tips and the opportunity to join various fitness sessions from the Zebras! In addition to paying for race participation, your registration fee also includes the Zebra bling bag (T-Shirt/Finishers Medal/Zebra key chain-bottle opener/Zebra wrist band).

You can also purchase additional Zebra bling from the zebras website – zebrasinmotion.com

Our charity supports awareness for Amyloidosis, a rare disease that is a consequence of abnormal protein (amyloid) deposits in body tissues and organs. Help the Zebras raise funds for further research via the Amyloidosis Foundation, increase awareness about this debilitating disease and learn how to recognize early symptoms. Any additional donations to Zebras in Motion are tax deductible

between Mile post 2.0 & Mile post 12.0.
– Flat, shady, tree-lined, with scenic riverside vistas

– Any runner who registers by Aug 12th is guaranteed

the race for availability).
– A low-key race for anyone training for a marathon,
half marathon, or for anyone that just wants the
challenge.

Parking
– Parking can be found using Google Maps
– Parking is available in the parking area near
the start/finish line

  • Five aid stations along the course.
  • 10 Mile runners pass aid stations five times.
  • 20 Miler pass aid stations ten times
    (approximately every two miles).
  • Each aid station has water and Gatorade.
  • First aid, course marshals, and bike support
    on the course as well
  • This unique out-and-back course runs through
    one of the area’s first environmentally-protected
    zones, dating back to the 1830’s.
  • Watch for deer and other wildlife at dawn.
  • The C&O Canal for its entire 184.5-mile length
    is a swath of green amidst urban development.
  • The race course is a narrow (12-foot) wide
    unpaved trail, entirely flat, and runs past
    150-year-old locks and gatehouses.
  • We share the course with other users and bicyclists,
    so stay to the right.

All proceeds go to Marathon Charity Cooperation’s
partner charities.

Since 1994, the Kensington 8K Race has been a favorite DC area fall race – a fun, fast event with beauty, challenge, and excitement. Run it this year on Saturday, September 21, 2024!

The 8K distance is $39, with a start time of 8:30am. Shorter distances are 2M ($25) at 7:45am and 1K ($20) at 8:35am.

Packet pick-up, parking, the start/finish line, and post-race festival are all near Kensington Town Hall, just a block off Connecticut Avenue about a mile north of Beltway exit 33.
